ULAANBAATAR
Upon arrival in Ulaan Baatar, you will be met at the airport and
are transferred to the hotel or to the hostel (2 options). Free
time at hotel. This afternoon city tour includes a visit to the
"Genghis or Chinggis" Khaan's main monument in
Sukh Bataar square, and the National History Museum,
where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from
the Stone Age to the present. Next stop is the beautiful Winter
Palace of the last Mongolian Khan, who ruled until 1924.
Lastly, visit to Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get
your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city and the Buddha's
statue. 18:00-Evening National Performers
(concert which includes the Tsam dance, traditional Mongolian singers,
dancers, Tuvan throat singing and contortionists). Have
welcome dinner at local restaurant "El Latino", featuring
Mongolian and Western specialties. Overnight at hotel or at hostel

GANDAN
MONASTERY-TUUL RIVER NOMAD'S VALLEY
Today is spent on a guided city tour of Ulaanbataar,
highlights include the Gandan Lamasery, the largest
Monastery in Mongolia (80 foot tall statue of Buddha, practicing
Tibetan Buddhist Lamas), the Natural Museum,
where you will see two complete dinosaur skeletons, which were
found in the Gobi - the giant flesh-eating Tarbosaurus, 15m tall
and four to five tons in weight, and the little duck-billed plant-eating
Saurolophus , and displays of Mongolia's geography, flora and
fauna and the and the Zanabazar Fine Arts Museum,
known as one of the best collections of Buddhist art and artifacts
in the world. Lunch in local restaurant. After,
drive to the "Sacred Tuul river Nomad's Valley".
This is a beautiful valley of streams. There are national gers
in beautiful natural locations, so it's easy to meet with locals
and see their daily lives, interact with them, explore, take water
adventures, go trekking, swimming in the Tuul river. In route,
we will stop, to observe and to take some amazing photos
to the 40 meter (~133,3 feet) Statue of "Genghis or Chinggis"
Khan on a big horse on Tsonjin Boldog Hill is located
just ~3kms (~1,5miles) to "Chinggis" Tourist Camp. Welcome
dinner with traditional Mongolian meal (khorkhog), which
is mutton cooked with hot rock and with vegetables, water, potatoes,
and onion. Overnight at the "Chinggis" Tourist Camp. "Chinggis"

HORSEBACK RIDING
TOUR
Breakfast. Horseback riding tour to enjoy this
amazing scenery of wide-open steppe with rolling hills in the background
and river. The river Tuul is one of the longest rivers of the country,
flowing from the Khentii Mountain Range. The valley of the river
has been called sacred for centuries by the nomads as they truly
respect the nature especially the rivers and the surface water.
The beautiful valley in summer is often dotted with traditional
Mongolian gers and offers picturesque sceneries. Visit Nomads
along the way and enjoy Nomad hospitality. See their daily
lives, take water adventures, go trekking, swimming in the Tuul
river. Overnight in "Chinggis" tourist camp. Full board.

TERELJ NATIONAL
PARK-TURTLE ROCK-ARRYABAL TEMPLE
After breakfast, drive to "Terelj" National Park
for a walking tour to Turtle Rock and hiking to the "Arryabal"
Buddhist temple on the top of the mountain. It is famous
for its amazing rock formations, pristine alpine scenery and varied
bird life. The Terelj National Park incorporates parts of Khenty
Mountain Range. The forest consists of Aspen, Larch and Birch trees
which support wolf, eagles and others. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon,
drive back to "Chinggis" tourist camp. Free time for hiking, archery,
etc. Dinner and overnight. Full board. |

CHINGGIS
TOURIST CAMP-AMARBAYASGALANT MONASTERY
After, breakfast, drive to "Amarbayasgalant"
monastery, situated in the northern central Mongolia.
After Erdene Zuu Khiid in Karakhorum, Amarbayasgalant Khiid is
considered the most important monastery in Mongolia. It's also
one of the most beautiful. Free time. Overnight in traditional
ger dwellings at the Tourist camp. Full board.

URAN
& TOGOO MOUNTAINS & TOGOO NATURAL RESERVE
In the morning, visit Amarbayasgalant monastery
and attend the Buddhist ceremony-was originally
built in 1737 by the Manchurian king Kansu, who dedicated it to
the great Mongolian Buddhist and sculptor, Zanabazar. In the 1930s
and were destroyed 10 of the 37 temples and statues. The monastery
was restored between 1975 and 1990 with the help of UNESCO. You're
welcome to watch the 30 resident monks conduct their daily ceremonies,
compared to over 2000 in 1936. After, we continuous drive through
amazing scenery of wide-open steppe to Uran mountain &
Togoo mountain Natural reserve. Hiking and visit the extinct volcano
of Uran mountain (1631m) and Togoo Tulga mountain (1923m) Natural
Reserve. Uran mountain is a pretty good place to break
our journey to Lake Khovsgol. Overnight in traditional ger dwellings
at the tourist camp. Full board. |

MORON-ERHEL
LAKE-HOVSGOL LAKE NATIONAL PARK
Next, long drive north-east to the Lake Hovsgol National
Park. In route, we stop for short visit to Erhil
lake. Arrive and spend the remainder of the day at leisure
on the lake. Lake Hovsgol is a 100 mile long pristine alpine lake
located in the north of Mongolia, close to the Siberian border.
The lake lies at an altitude of 1645m and is a rift valley some
262m deep. The Lake is a protected as a National Park and is sacred
to Mongolians who call it "Dalai Ej" the "Mother Sea".
Overnight in traditional ger dwellings at the Tourist camp. Full

LAKE NATIONAL PARK
A leisure day on the lake Hovsgol to enjoy this remote
location, we recommend you take a walk around the lake or into
the foothills to witness this amazing landscapes and wild life.
Optional excursions available on the Lake Hovsgol (not transport
today!): hiking, trekking, climbing, fishing, boating, horseback
riding, birdwatching, kayaking, etc. Meet with nomadic families
and see their daily lives, interact with them. Overnight in traditional
ger dwellings at the Tourist camp. Full board. |

RANGE-DZUUN LAKE-WHITE LAKE
Next drive south-west through amazing scenery of wide-open steppe
with rolling hills in the background to Terkhiin Tsagaan
Lake National Park. Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur (known in English
as the White Lake)-Horgo extinct volcano National Park. This is
a long trip to the freshwater lake with volcanic area around it
is certainly the highlight of Arkhangai and one of the best in a
country full of beautiful lakes. This is one of the most spectacular
regions, full of forests, rugged terrain, and lakes. Thousands of
yaks, sheep and horses graze alongside the way. Short Stop
in route to visit Dzuun lake. Arrive in White lake and
overnight in ger camp . Full board. |

TSAGAAN LAKE-HORGO VOLCANO N. PARK
Day at leisure on the Lake Terkhiin. There will be an
optional opportunity to hiking, trekking, climbing, fishing, etc.
This is an extinct volcano crater surrounded by interesting rock
formations. Optional hiking to the Khorgo Volcano Crater.

KARAKORUM-ERDENE
ZUU MONASTERY-ULAANBAATAR
This morning, we drive through the grassland toward "Karakorum"
was founded in 1220 at the crossroads of the Silk Road. It was
the capital of the Mongol Empire until Kublai Khan moved it to
Beijing. Visitors, such as Marco Polo, described its ornate building,
including a 2500 sq. meters Palace of Worldly Peace. 400 meter
long with 108 Stupas still surrounds Erdene Zuu Monastery which
was built in 1586. Today the restoration of the Monastery is the
government's top priority. Erdene Zuu retains much of its ancient
glory and is well worth visiting. Visit "Erdene Zuu" monastery,
and the small turtle monument. The monastery
grounds and several chapels depicts excellent examples of Buddhist
iconography dating from the sixteenth century. Lunch in tourist
ger camp. Afterward, a long drive directly to Ulaanbaatar.
Transfer to the hotel. Shop for souvenirs, original pure cashmere
gifts and garments. Farewell dinner. Full board. |
